Our Verdict
We recently took the RC Hippo Remote Control Boat out for a test run to see if its water-spraying gimmick lived up to the hype. This 40cm remote-controlled vessel is designed specifically for aquatic environments, making it a perfect companion for summer pool days or bath time adventures.
Performance & Build Quality
The build quality of this boat is surprisingly robust, clearly designed to withstand the inevitable bumps against pool walls and rough play. The waterproof seals are tight, ensuring that the internal electronics stay dry even when the boat is aggressively maneuvering through the water.
Day-to-Day Experience
Operating the boat is very intuitive, with a learning curve that is virtually non-existent even for younger children. The remote response is crisp, and the water-spraying function adds an extra layer of excitement that keeps kids engaged for much longer than standard RC boats.
This toy is ideal for parents looking for a durable, high-engagement gift for active boys who enjoy imaginative play in the water.
Final Thoughts
Overall, we found this toy to be a fantastic addition to any water-play collection, earning a solid 4.75/5 rating. At $49.00, it offers a great balance of fun, durability, and ease of use that makes it a standout choice for the 2026 season.
